What is Retin-A?

Retin-A® is a topical (for use on skin only) prescription medication used to treat acne in patients 12 and older.

Retinol

  • Over-the-counter retinoid (a form of Vitamin A)

Tretinoin

  • Prescription grade retinoid (a form of Vitamin A)
  • Approximately 20 times more potent than retinol in increasing skin cell turnover
